Reliance Industries hires freshers through its Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) program, mostly on campus: academic shortlisting, an online aptitude and technical test, then technical and HR interviews (often one techno-HR panel) and a medical. You need 60% or 6.0 CGPA throughout and no active backlogs; the reported 2026 GET CTC is ₹7.5–9 LPA.
Who can apply
- Full-time BE/BTech from an AICTE-approved institute in chemical, electrical, mechanical or instrumentation; 2026 notices also list civil, fire engineering and metallurgy
- Minimum 60% or 6.0 CGPA in 10th, 12th/diploma and engineering
- No active backlogs or detention, and a total academic gap of no more than 3 years

Interview process
- 1ShortlistingApplications screened on academics; depending on branch, one or two assessment rounds come before the interview.
- 2Online assessmentAptitude plus technical questions for your discipline.
- 3Technical + HR interviewCore questions for your branch plus resume and behavioural questions; several candidates describe a single techno-HR panel of about 20 minutes.
- 4Medical and documentsMedical examination and document verification before the final offer.
Questions to expect in Reliance Industries interviews
Drawn from reported fresher tests and interviews (sources below), with short answers. Practise more on placd.
What is the vector group of a transformer?
It is a code for how the HV and LV windings are connected and the phase shift between them. Capitals give the HV connection (D, Y, Z), lower case the LV connection, n a brought-out neutral, and the number is the LV phase displacement in 30-degree clock steps. Example: Dyn11 means HV delta, LV star with neutral, LV leading HV by 30 degrees. Parallel transformers need the same vector group.
Explain the differential protection of a transformer.
CTs on both sides of the transformer measure current in and out. After ratio and vector-group compensation, the CT secondary currents balance for normal load and external faults, so almost no current flows in the relay. An internal fault upsets the balance and the difference current trips the breaker. A percentage (biased) relay tolerates CT mismatch and tap changes, and second-harmonic restraint blocks tripping on magnetising inrush.
What are control valve characteristics?
The inherent flow characteristic relates flow to valve travel at constant pressure drop. Quick-opening gives large flow change near the closed position, used for on/off duty. Linear gives flow proportional to travel. Equal-percentage gives the same percentage change in existing flow for each equal increment of travel; it is the most common for process control where the pressure drop across the valve varies.
What are cathodic and anodic protection, and what causes galvanic corrosion?
Cathodic protection makes the structure the cathode of a cell, either with sacrificial anodes (zinc, magnesium, aluminium corrode instead) or with impressed current from a DC source and inert anodes for pipelines, tanks and hulls. Anodic protection holds a passivating metal, such as stainless steel in sulphuric acid, in its passive range. Galvanic corrosion occurs when dissimilar metals touch in an electrolyte; the less noble metal corrodes.
Which hardness test do you use for thin materials?
A low-load test so the indentation stays small compared with the thickness: Vickers micro-hardness or Knoop, or the Rockwell superficial scales (such as 15N or 30T). As a rule the sheet should be at least about 1.5 times the Vickers diagonal, or about 10 times the Rockwell indentation depth, otherwise the anvil affects the reading.
What is the difference between steam distillation and ordinary distillation?
Ordinary distillation boils a miscible mixture at its bubble point and separates it by relative volatility. Steam distillation passes steam through a water-immiscible, heat-sensitive or high-boiling liquid; because each immiscible liquid exerts its own vapour pressure, the mixture boils when their sum reaches the system pressure, which is below 100 deg C at atmospheric pressure, so the compound distils without decomposing.
About Reliance Industries hiring
What is the Reliance GET salary?
Reliance's 2026 GET notice, as reported by job portals, lists ₹7.5 LPA for non-IIT campuses and ₹9 LPA for IITs. Glassdoor users report GET base pay of about ₹6–8 LPA (729 salaries).
Which branches does Reliance hire as GET?
RIL's campus page names chemical, electrical, mechanical and instrumentation engineering. Reported 2026 notices also list civil, fire engineering and metallurgy. You need 60% or 6.0 CGPA throughout and no active backlogs.
What is asked in the Reliance GET interview?
